The XOOPS China team has won a prestigious award at the 2008 China Open Source Software Contest (OSSContest) in Beijing.
XOOPS China won the main award for excellence in creative application. The award will be accepted by Taiwen Jiang, the XOOPS Lead Developer and his team at the 2008 Open Source Software Development Summit, China. It is the latest recognition for the XOOPS China community website and project development.
The Summit will take place at the Xiyuan Hotel in Beijing, on Jan 13, 2009. Its steering committee is composed of Chinaâs Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST), Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), National High Tech R&D Program (863 Program) and China Software Industry Association (CSIA).
The conference and the OSSContest is organized by Co-Create Software League of CSIA and Chinese Association of Software Parks (CASP)of China Association for Science and Technology Industrial Parks (ChinaASTIP).
Zhanyuan Du, Vice Minister of the Ministry of Science and Technology, Chris Lin, SUNâs president for Great China, and Zhaozhu Liang, R&D Chief Officer of Intel Asia Pacific R&D, among others, will be the keynote speakers at the conference.
As the Chinese government plans to spend several billion of RMB on âcore electronic components, high-end interchangeable chip, and fundamental software productsâ in 2009, open source software projects face new opportunities in China.
XOOPS China is delighted to be recognized in the contest and is committed to continued excellence and support for XOOPS and Open Source. This award is also a tribute to the dedication of many people from around the world who have contributed to the XOOPS Project.

Well some of you may already do this with your development in creating a time capsule. This is one for XOOPS that will be sealed at the 1st of march.

It is water proof and will be placed in a remote location away from any nuclear targets and is good for a millennium as the plastics in the container.
Should you wish as a member of our community to contribute, I would suggest you mail me a flash disk, or mail me a sealed letter. Your contribution will not be logged nor will the flash discs be recorded, it will be simply added to the chamber of all goodies for the XOOPS time capsule.
I think we should do one of these each year around different parts of the world, who know we could exist elsewhere beyond our reaches as foresight see it.

Free, simple and Xoops 2.3.2 compatible Very Green Grass theme for xoops. It is based on my custom theme used for one of Xoops based sites, which ran successfuly for more than 3 years. The site is beeing shut down, so this is my another small tribute for open-source movement.

Since our old host, Lycos, is going out of business, we had to move our site, and we thought it was time to clean it up a bit, as our current site is over 1000 MB big. We have moved all of our files to our new server, AcidaServer.

◎选择一个好的域名（网址）

◎CPM 模式的Banner广告
在网站外销事业中，广告联盟的运作与选择很重要，但还有一个部分没有讨论，就是网络广告的不同型态以及各自的收入潜力。一般而言加入广告联盟后，马上就面临要选择摆放甚么类型的广告在网站上的问题。在我们开始谈网站如何推广之前，先来看看网络广告的类型。
最常见的广告型态是Banner广告，主要以图片或Flash 动画展示广告。广告尺寸有国际标准，常见的是长条型728x90（横条）及160x600 （直条）两种，以及长方形336x280 的。要摆多大尺寸的广告看你自己网站的版面舒适度，以及网站经营者想赚多少钱。

因为，重点是，版面越大的广告，网站经营者得到的收入越高。例如，摆放尺寸为728x90的横条广告，其收入要比摆放468x60的小横条广告要高，以此类推。这是十分公平的，连这么细微的地方都注意到了，可见得西方的网络广告行业运作有多成熟。
